Abstract
Objective: The theory of the Creative City is one of the most up-to-date and innovative theories in urban planning, emerging as part of the third wave of urbanization worldwide and has become one of the most applicable theories in urban studies. In the context of creating creative cities, merely focusing on modern global theories is insufficient. Living in a country with an Iranian-Islamic culture requires the localization of these approaches.
The goal of this study is to elucidate the role of credit systems in creating a creative city; thus, the research reconsiders the concept of the creative city in light of Allameh Tabatabai's approaches, identifying common elements among the inferred concepts. Through this, it seeks to recognize the influential dimensions in the creative city based on Allameh's theory of credit perceptions within the Iranian-Islamic urban context.
Method: Therefore, this research intends to examine the ideas of urban planning in creative cities, considering contemporary approaches such as pragmatism and neo-pragmatism. Subsequently, the perspectives and thoughts of Allameh Tabatabai, a philosopher in the Islamic world, will be analyzed in this context, exploring the ontology, anthropology, and epistemology of these concepts. Finally, these approaches have been studied in a comparative manner.
Results and Conclusions: The findings of the research indicate that the main components constituting Florida's creative city theory have a relative contradiction with Islamic thought. If the components of this theory are reconsidered in accordance with Islamic thought and Iranian culture, the creative city theory will undergo positive changes, enhancing its effectiveness.
